Staff training on Program Conceptualization and Operational Strategy

It is very important that the lessons learnt and best practices from the past disasters are transferred and shared with the organizations responding to the disaster for the first time. IHD team does a participatory strategy building workshop with the staff of the Responding organization. Objective of the workshop is to :

A)   Avoid the process of re-inventing the known

B)   Support the implementing organization to build the right strategy for the response.

C)   Decide a common approach and build a correct “common frame” with the staff of the organization so that various project activities are in harmony with each other.

D)   Evolve various project components with macro-micro plans

E)   Design participatory approaches and evolve common operational principles

F)   Design monitoring system, staffing, common MIS, etc for the project to keep the track of the progress.

Management Information System (MIS) design and Training

MIS is a back bone system, which will help track and monitor any project. A correct MIS system in place can ensure :

  • Correct and timely flow of information
  • Availability of actual ground statistics and base information so as to mentor the project towards its planned objectives.
  • Daily, Weekly or monthly tracking of project and project resources including material, staffing, machine, finances and also time.
  • Help in better coordination and planning
  • Help ensure transparency and accountability
  • Avoid mis-communication or chances of mis-appropriateness at the field.

Analysis of MIS information collected over the period can further help in drawing lessons learnt and analyzing success and failures for future programs.
