Neighbourhood Solid Waste Management System Promotion Programme
An action oriented research and awareness programme on solid waste management was conducted at a residential colony of approximately 90 houses in Memnagar area of Ahmedabad. Existing system was thoroughly studied and an alternative system of waste management was developed with the participation of community. Street plays on the theme of waste management were performed in the society to promote the system.As a result many people started segregating their waste. But due to lack of management support the system could not be materialized.
